Finally laid down in black and white my revision study plan for MCT. Not that I will definitely follow it though... never quite works out that way. But it's a good way to scare yourself into studying, haha!
Yesterday the principal announced that it would be a half-day. It was supposed to be an enjoyable day, but the torrent rain spoiled it more or less. Anyway, our GP tutor has gone for some NS thingy so he didn't come today and there was no relief teacher! But after that Mr. Pang came in to relief Mr. Wong whose mother passed away. All the lectures by Mr. Wong will also be taken over by Mr. Ng. Mr. Pang has an interesting personality partly because he likes to deride people with his diatribe but also because he is rather knowledgeable (which he acknowledges himself)... However, we could only get through 1 question for Equilibrium of Rigid Bodies today because he had to stop at some point or another to tell us what the top student in RJC (with 9 distinctions) said and that TJ's results deteriorated since 1997 (before that TJ was always in 2nd position, he said). And as usual, he brings up these stories about students who don't listen to his advice and end up as what he had predicted.
Anyway, when school was over, me, Ching Mien, Wai Kit, Wilson and Yi Cheng decided to meet at 1.30 p.m. at the canteen and then go to Suntec. I borrowed the newest copy of National Geographic from the library first. While waiting for the train to come at Bedok MRT station, I was hit at the back (ouch!) by Winnie. We then talked all the way until I had to come down at City Hall.
We went for the Student's buffet at Sakae Sushi to eat our lunch (it was already 3.00 p.m.). I didn't dare to eat too much because I was afraid I would puke like Yi Cheng the last time he came. I biggest regret was that I didn't get to eat any Tiramisu...
After we had all eaten our fill (around 4.40 p.m.) and paid (about $S80 altogether), we went to catch a movie at Eng Wah cinemas upstairs. Since it was pass 4.30 p.m. we couldn't watch Big Fish and so we watched 'The Butterfly Effect'. I'll try to write more about it later... I have a double GP lesson now....
OK... I'm back. Basically, the movie was named 'The Butterfly Effect' after a certain quotation from 'Chaos Theory' which goes something like this: "It is said that the simple flutter of a butterfly can cause a typhoon to occur on the other side of the world". Basically, the story revolves around this guy Evans (Ashton Kutcher), who has occasionally encountered memory lapses in his youth. When he grows up he realises that he could return to the past, albeit momentarily, and change his actions or speech etc., thus altering his future. He had attempted it many times because everytime something couldn't quite work out. The show can be quite shocking sometimes... I guess it's rated NC-16.
The rain really spoilt everything afterwards though... My bag, shoes and pants (school pants!) were all wet by the time I got back. Had to lay out my stuff on the bed to dry and stuff my shoes with newspaper to dry them up... I also got the National Geographic magazine a bit wet... hope the school doesn't mind...
Anyway, I slept around 1.00 am.
OK, next I'll write about more recent stuff (that is, merely a few hours ago)...
During GP period, got my essay back. the topic was: "The answer to crime is harsh laws" How far do you agree? I got 26.5 out of 50 (highest in class)... quite happy! My last few essays were hovering about the passing mark (22.5).
Nothing much else had happened afterwards... Got to go to the library to do revision now. Maths S paper coming up later...this time I'm fully prepared and I'm glad I could do all the questions!
Mood at this instantaneous point in time: Happy!
