YES! THE GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION (A-LEVEL) IS FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!

And I'm quite happy too today! Physics 'S' was easier than I thought. So a Merit is almost a certainty. Just hope that I can get that Distinction. Hmm... actually many people thought the paper was OK also...

Something happened recently and I just have to say this : Life is precious and life is uncertain... You'd never know what may happen... Don't take your loved ones and friends for granted, OK? I'll have to visit my grandmother when I go back to Malaysia...

Ching Mien can't attend church this Sunday, but I promised him I'd go on 28th Nov many, many weeks ago... So I'm still going. Just want to know how it's like and how sermons etc. are conducted etc...

Yay! Core 'A'-level papers are over! Only got Physics 'S' left...

But sadly, I think I can't achieve my dream of 4A's anymore, especially after yesterday's F Maths that left me very very demoralised... felt like crying... but what's the use? I can only HOPE for a 'B'. These few days of exams have more or less been a series of unfortunate events because I kept choosing questions that were difficult when actually there were much easier questions! Sigh.....Well, at least I have Physics and Maths to console me....

I really feel pity for this friend of mine who couldn't finish his Physics paper, and why? Because he did all 6 core questions when you're only supposed to do 4 out of 6! So sad... and I heard it's the second time he did it...

OK, let's talk about something else. Vi was walking in Orchard one day, and some people approached him and asked him what he would buy for his girlfriend (if he had one) for Christmas. He said a pretty wallet. And they asked him how much. He said S$30. Nguyen actually bought the magazine 'Seventeen' and we saw his face in there. The magazine quoted Vi: "I'd spend $80, on a pretty wallet maybe?" What the hell? They added S$50!

Anyway, last weekend we had dinner at Fengshan (Block 85) but with a twist. Because it was likely to be the last time we would eat there as JC2 students, we ordered sting ray and a 'lala substitute' (don't know what's it called). I haven't eaten spicy food for some time, so the sting ray was soooooo pedas! Oh btw, I was sharing one sting ray with Eric and Wai Kit. Wai Kit had diarrhea the next morning. He always has diarrhea when he eats spicy stuff, but he still likes it (eating spicy food I mean)!

Not much time left for me in Singapore this year. Not much money left too. I want to spend some money on going out these few days but it seems as if I would then have to convert my Malaysian Ringgit in Singapore Dollar, which I'm rather reluctant to do because the Ringgit is low now and after it depegs or changes its peg value it will rise!

Aiyah, actually don't know what plans the guys have in mind for these last few days... I'm quite sure that we'll be going to Orchard.... then I can buy 2 books that I want. One of them is the the Douglas Adams series to the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and the other would be Sidney Sheldon's "Are you afraid of the dark?". (Geat, if you're reading this, please SMS me if you're buying or already bought one of these)

Most of the PRC students are leaving now... most of the ASEAN juniors (TPJC ones) have gone back too, including Julian who left 2 days ago.

That's about all I've got to say... I'll be leaving soon as well, have to discuss my plans with my parents soon... Do I have to end this blog? Coz soon I won't be a Malaysian blogging in Singapore anymore...

Ay... Maths 'S' just over... I wanted to write about some other stuff but I forgot my 'list' and I'm lazy to think what I wrote down... so I'll have to comment on Maths 'S' and that's it.

Maths 'S' ... It was DEFINITELY easier than Prelims, and that is both advantageous and disadvantageous, because you'll be able to solve more questions and get more marks but others might do so better than you. In other words, to get my 'Merit' I'll have to hope that there were many people out there, especially from the lower JC's, who CAN'T do most questions or DON'T have enough time, because I didn't have enough time! Not much 'cushion effect' this time I think.(A bit evil here...) 3 hours again! Not enough to do 7 questions lah! Wah.... I've counted and I think I can only get around 52%~58% (compared to 36% for prelims)... I don't know if it's got enough for an A-level merit, but by the prelim scale, I'll be comfortably getting a Merit and possibly Distinction.... how?? Have to wait >3 months!

Argh.... got to study others now. No time to dwell on a errors in previous papers... Wish me luck for tomorrow! I'll wish all you suffering poor souls out there too!

I have slightly more time to blog today....

The hostel is having its renovation and white-washing now... I just don't get Mr. Ng sometimes... why choose this period when people are right in the middle of their 'A'-levels? So noisy + smell of paint + dust!

My next paper will be later this afternoon (Chem Paper 1), so I'm not going back to the hostel for lunch. Further Mathematics Paper 1 just over.... it was actually more do-able than I at first thought, but still there was one entire question I couldn't do...well, not exactly: I guess I can get 1/7 for that...haha... actually I couldn't do it at first and I skipped it and I was on the right train of thought when I attempted it again but... "Time's up! No more writing! Please remain silent as...."*sigh*.... I need 4 hours to do F maths better... 3 hours is not enough! I would love an 'A' but I expect a 'B' lah....still have to see Paper 2...

"SUPER-HEAVY" day hasn't come yet... It'll be next Wednesday.... F Maths Paper 2 (Mechanics + eww...Statistics) + Physics Paper 3...

After chem I'll have to revise for Maths 'S' Paper....

Don't want to spend a lot of time here. Just to give some comments on the exams...

Chem paper 2: Hmm... moderately difficult for me.... I realised there are more and more questions that require knowledge of application rather than pure calculations and memory work. And for paper 2 this year, Cambridge seems to love 'melting' and 'boiling'...

Next would be today's Physics Paper1 and 2. Paper 1 was rather easy compared to internal school exams. I'm actually confident of scoring 28/30~30/30... haha.... but anyway, Paper 2 was a bit of a struggle. There were again stuff that require more thinking, and the last question (Data Analysis) was my bane. Just couldn't understand the questions well enough to know what answers I'm giving, especially the calculations. And I suppose I'll lose around 10~12 marks out of 20 for this one. Hmm... MUST do better for Paper 3 then!

Tomorrow's a 'Heavy' day... Further Maths Paper 1 ('Heavy') + Chemistry Paper 1 ('Relatively lighter')... Wish me luck! or rather a clear mind...

Finally the 2 Maths papers are over! Overall I found it quite OK, but I think it was a bit more difficult than what I expected. For paper 2 I did pure mechanics instead of applied maths or statistics. I think it was a good choice 'coz stats is not my cup of tea and Joey just told me that Mrs. Lim (HOD Maths) said that the Stats was not easy. Still, there's no way I can evade from stats 'coz I'll meet it later in F Maths paper2. So I'll be doing the Maths C stats for practice tomorrow. Tomorrow's paper is Chem paper 2. Trying to be optimistic.... at least there's no Food Chem!

Anyway, my parents + my 2 sisters went off to Sarawak for their holiday last Saturday I think. I suppose they're only visiting Kuching. My brother didn't go (why? haha.... I also dunno). My parents called the day before to tell me. My dad was like: "no money to go Australia mah, so go Sarawak loh *laughter*". Reminds me of when I was small, I asked my father when could we all go to Australia for holiday and he said 5 years later. 5 years went by and I actually did bring up the subject, but of course, there was no trip lah. Haha... we are just sooooo guillible and credulous when we're young.... Hmm... hope I can earn enough money next time so that I can send my parents over for a holiday there... haha....

Study is what most of us are trying to do now, but up 'til now I see the guys studying about 1/2 the time only + the PRC scholars don't seem to touch their notes at all! Hmm... + now the girls are passing all their ji4 nian4 ce4 (apa nama.... Autograph book?) to the guys...

I got serious diarrhea early Sunday morning (1st day of Hari Raya). I had to go to the toilet 3 times in the span of 3+ hours + I vomitted twice. So, no choice, I had to go see a doctor (^^$^^... money flying away....). I asked Anbu to accompany me 'coz by the time I wanted to go to the doctor's I had lost a lot of water and was feeling a bit dizzy. I'm OK now... (^_^)...

Anyway, I was quite happy last Wednesday 'coz I got to watch the movie 'Sepet'. 'Mata sepet' means mi1 mi1 yan3 which means.... small eyes, like two thin slits lah.... like this (-_-)... Anyway, I invited Lita to join me and she agreed! Haha.... after the movie we had dinner in Orchard... Hmm.... she (like Winnie) also said that Indonesians say 'mata sipit' . I guess it's just Malaysia that uses 'sepet' lah... another difference between the languages than I've found out is that Malaysian use 'budak' to mean a young child but Indonesians think it is rude to use 'budak'. I'll try to write about the movie if I've got time....

Chemistry Paper 3 just over... It was surprisingly easy.... OK, relatively easy compared to Prelims. Hopefully I successfully 'crapped' my way through the Food Chem part...

Anyway, I'm more at ease now that that particular test is over (it's one of those 'Heavy' papers)... Tomorrow's Mathematics Paper 1. Shouldn't pose too much a problem. Maths Paper 2 Mechanics sometimes poses a problem for me...

Anyway, I think I'll be going to watch a movie this Wednesday. It won't affect my revision much coz there's one week break between Maths Paper 1 and Maths Paper 2... Better check the movie listings now.... tata....

Hm... General Paper just over.... Not very confident of my Paper 1, but quite confident of my Paper 2. A1 or A2 still possible!!!! Well, even if it wasn't I'll still say that coz I'm like that loh.... last time PMR and SPM also like that... I remember my mother was worried for me the day before I got my PMR results (Me:"I'll get 8A's! Don't worry, I'll surely get 8A's Mommy! etc.). Haha... that's just me lah.... my parents don't force me (much)...

Anyway, one day we were quite hungry so we went down to the Simpang Bedok 'Mamak' stall for some food. We made the grave mistake of not signing out. When we came back we were talking loudly and laughing etc. at Eric's room until 1 a.m., and that is when Mr. Ng (hostel manager) came to reprimand us...(scold, scold...). We all had to write an apology letter and promise not to break hostel rules again.

Oh! Something interesting yesterday... Mdm Tan (the Kind hostel matron) gave each JC2 student 2 durian puffs from Kallang. Hmm.... I ate one.... haha..... haven't taken so much durian since 1988! Haha.... it's because after coming back from US my tastebuds changed... But you know, I actually like the aroma and also like to open durians.... I'm not quite sure if I like EATing them, but I'll try! After all, durian+curry+mamak stalls maketh a Malaysian (feel free to tell me what I missed)....

Missed Singapore Idol last week because of the 'Farewell Party' being held for the Sec4 and JC2 hostel boarders. Before the party we (the guys) were all thinking of what to wear... We were particularly interested in what Ching Mien should wear actually... Should he wear a choker? No...tak padan dengan bajunya... He decided to wear a shirt (we HAD to unbutton his collar button)... etc. etc. and finally we tried to mess up his hair (or spike it or something). But it couldn't be done! He had combed the same hairstyle for years and it kept falling back to shape.... Ish.... irritating..... Extreme Makeover failed!!!!!

Anyway, we saw Yi Cheng wearing a white long sleeved shirt with the sleeves curled up and slacks, and in the end there was 4 of us wearing in a similar fashion (Me, Wai Kit, Eric and Yi Cheng)... tried to act 'seh'...haha... Actually Yi Cheng's look was modelled after 'liu4 jia3 yue4 tuan2' (six aces--a boyband from Taiwan) who came to TJ...

The 'party' started around 7.30p.m. There were performances (so-so), and Ching Chui actually composed and wrote a farewell song (so touching....). There was a prize giving ceremony and speeches (blah,blah...)... But most importantly, there were food and drinks. And around 9.30p.m. the dancing started... So I danced loh.... until 11-something, so I missed BOTH Singapore Idol and The O.C.

Then on Friday night there was the choir concert by our choir juniors. Went to buy flowers with Cliffton first. Winnie didn't join us coz she was going to have dinner with Amanda at City Hall (At 5pm! So early! But then again, she eat very slow one lah...)... The concert was nice. I enjoyed it! First were the standard choir songs (6 of them) ... there was this cute song I liked called "Ding Dong! Merrily on High"... haha... no intermission...We sang a happy birthday song (TJChoir style) before Charles performed 2 songs (he unfortunately 'cracked' at a high note, but we still cheered him on! Go Charles!!!! you rock!!!!). There were 3 short musical skits after that, which were all rather unique and humorous! Haha!!!! Makes me miss singing in a choir... Then came the part where the concert was coming to an end and people were shouting 'Encore!!!'. Miss Tham said:"We will do an encore provided the seniors join us on stage to sing 'Laudate'." So we went on stage loh...haha... got to sing again...I was so thrilled (and touched... haha...). Gave the flowers to the tenor juniors and I also gave one each to Esther and Liling. The choir family then celebrated Charles birthday on the stage....

GP papers coming up... I'm warming up by blogging...
